Looking for a specific title but can’t find it or it’s not available? It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
1) First, take a look at the SAILS Library Network. If the item you are searching for is checked out, you have the option to place it on hold.
To do so, you will need your library card number and PIN. Locate the item in the catalog and then select “Place Hold.” Be sure to indicate the correct pick-up library. When the item becomes available, you will be contacted by email, text, or phone.
2) If you do not find the item you are looking for in the SAILS Library Network, the next step is to check the Commonwealth Catalog (ComCat) to see if it is available.
The ComCat gives you access to many items from across the state that are outside of the SAILS Library Network. Similar to SAILS, requested items from ComCat will be sent to your requested Library where it will be held for you to pick up.
3) If neither SAILS nor ComCat have the item, you can request we purchase the item for our collection. Suggested items for purchase can be made here.
